Supervises activities of the Clinical Nutrition area to ensure that the nutritional needs of patients and the standards of nutritional care are maintained.
1. Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
2. Collaborates with Food Service staff, as well as medical, nursing, and allied health staff to maintain interdepartmental cooperation.
3. Assesses and documents patient nutritional status and care plans.
4. Develops, revises, and implements departmental and interdepartmental policies/procedure and performance improvement initiatives. Plans and coordinates nutrition services goals, objectives, and new services.
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or related field. 2 years as a clinical dietitian with supervisory experience. Registered as a Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Florida state licensure if required by law.
